Costa Blanca Travel Guide
Costa Blanca is a coastline that stretches over 200 kilometres and belongs to the Province of Alicante in Spain. It is a popular tourist destination among British and German tourists. It includes the major tourist destinations of Dénia, Benidorm, Alicante and Xàbia. Costa Blanca has a backdrop of mountains and open countryside away from the coast and enjoys a pleasant climate throughout the year.
The nearest airport in Costa Blanca is the Alicante airport. Alicante is itself a holiday resort and a cultural city and offers great shopping, entertainment and family holidays. Torrevieja is another resort that lies towards the south of the airport and is famous for its sandy beach, lively market and several golf courses.
Costa Blanca has some of the finest beaches in Spain awarded the Blue Flag with sand ranging from fine golden to white colour. Away from the beaches, the region has lots of tiny coves, capes and craggy rocks. There are number of small marinas such as Javea, Denia, Calpe and Benidorm.
Jota Valenciana and the Jota Murciana are the traditional dances of Costa Blanca. Besides, the region celebrates many fiestas and festivals, out of which Semana Santa or Easter Week is the most important. Most travellers plan their visit to Costa Blanca during a Moors and Christians fiesta or see the Fallas.
