Costa del Sol is a region located in the south of Spain in the autonomous community of Andalucía. It is a popular holiday destination that runs from Nerja in the north to Gibraltar in the south. Being located just within one hour away from Malaga Airport, it is an ideal place for holiday goers. Miles of sandy beaches, rows of budget to luxury hotels, and above 320 days of sunshine every year has made this region a wonderful and popular destination.
In Costa del Sol there is something for everyone. Some of the most popular resorts of the region include Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Marbella. Quieter areas can be found down the coast such as Estepona. There are more than 70 golf courses in Costa del Sol. Other nearby Spanish villages includes Casares, Ronda, Manilva, Mollina, La Viñuela, Villanueva del Trabuco, Jimera de Líbar, Villanueva de la Concepción, San Pedro de Alcantara and Sabinillas, just to name a few.
Historically, Costa del Sol was mainly a fishing village. Today Costa del Sol is a popular tourist region that attracts millions of people annually who head to one of the many resorts located along the stretch of coastline from Gibraltar in the west to Nerja in the east.
